Enstrom Helicopters, founded in 1959 and located in Menominee, Michigan, produces helicopters for the civil aviation market. Over the decades, Enstrom changed ownership several times, until Chongqing Helicopter Investment Co., Ltd (CQHIC) of China purchased the company in 2012. Since the acquisition, international orders have increased substantially, and the workforce at Enstrom has grown from 100 to 150. “This is a major step in moving Enstrom to a new level,” said Enstrom President Jerry Mullins. “[The acquisition] will provide Enstrom with the needed resources to enhance marketing efforts in China and around the world. This strong ownership will allow further growth of our business in Menominee, Michigan to meet the demands of the increasing markets around the world, especially Asia.”
